Rohan Kumar

As the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of Security Platform and Purview at Microsoft, Rohan is the engineering and business leader responsible for product strategy, technical vision, long-range plan and strategy, design, development and implementation, engineering process involving the certification and release of the Microsoft Security platform, data security, compliance, governance and privacy offerings. Prior to joining Microsoft Security, Rohan was the CVP for all Azure Data products and services. Rohan joined Microsoft in July 1998 as a software development engineer in the core Windows file systems and storage team. He contributed to Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 before moving to the SQL Server team in July 2003. Rohan has held various engineering leadership roles in Azure Data and SQL Server since then. He graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) and a Master of Science degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Rohan resides in the Clyde Hill neighborhood with his wife and two daughters and is an active member of the local community.
