Expert Pulmonary Care on the Eastside

Our team of experts offers the full spectrum of pulmonology care close to home for patients in the greater Puget Sound area. We provide access to some of the latest testing, procedures and care without requiring patients to commute to Seattle. This makes it easier for patients to get the care they need so they can spend more time doing the things they love.

Complete Pulmonary Function Testing

Pulmonary function testing encompasses a series of tests that measure how well your lungs are working. We pride ourselves on being accessible, timely and responsive to patients who need these tests. We offer many different types of tests based on symptoms and needs including:

  • Spirometry, which measures basic lung function.
  • Plethysmography to evaluate how much air your lungs can hold.
  • Diffusion capacity assessments to see how well your lungs exchange gas.
  • Methacholine challenge to diagnose asthma.
  • Exercise oximetry including oxygen titrations, to measure how well your lungs deliver oxygen during exercise.
  • Cardiopulmonary exercise testing, where a person rides a stationary bike or walks on a treadmill while doctors monitor how well their heart and lungs handle exercise.

Comprehensive Lung Cancer Screening and Care

Our compassionate team offers extensive lung cancer screening and care. We work closely with people who have a higher risk of developing lung cancer (like those who have smoked for many years) to provide routine screening. Catching lung cancer early, when it's most treatable, helps save lives.

Overlake has advanced tools that enable us to get to the bottom of abnormal lung cancer screening results. This includes CT-guided and bronchoscopic biopsies, which are both minimally invasive procedures that take tissue samples and find out if a person has lung cancer. We also offer advanced bronchoscopic technologies such as endobronchial ultrasound to sample lymph nodes in the chest cavity and navigational bronchoscopy to find small nodules deep inside the lungs.

If you receive a lung cancer diagnosis, we’re here for you every step of the way. Our pulmonologists work in close partnership with doctors at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center on the Overlake main campus, giving patients access to some of the latest care and clinical trials. We’ll do everything in our power to help you overcome the disease.
