Overlake Medical Unit Nurse Leader Wins March of Dimes 2024 Nurse of the Year!
Congratulations to Emma Boteros, Overlake Medical Unit nurse leader, this year’s March of Dimes 2024 Nurse of the Year and Rising Star winner!
An excerpt from Emma’s nomination reads, "Emma's leadership as a charge nurse is highly palpable through her love for teaching, as she shares her expertise with others through staff mentorship and positive role modeling behaviors in order to achieve unit metrics and organizational goals. Her proven leadership has empowered the team to become engaged in unit quality improvement processes. Emma has made an impact in the lives of her patients, teammates and her nominator."
Emma’s achievement will be celebrated later this month. She is the second Overlake nurse to win the Nurse of the Year award.
Each year, the March of Dimes organization recognizes exceptional healthcare professionals across the country, and the esteemed Nurse of the Year award is a way of honoring nurses for their selflessness, dedication and passion for their profession.
For more than eight decades, March of Dimes has been dedicated to funding research, providing programs and education, and advocating for health equity—in an effort of ending preventable maternal health risks and mortality, as well as ending preventable preterm birth and infant death.
