Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as a Healthgrades five-star recipient in the Back and Neck Surgery category.

This recognition reflects the exceptional work and dedication of the Eastside Neuroscience Institute—an alliance between Overlake Medical Center & Clinics and EvergreenHealth—as well as other spine surgeons who are part of the Overlake community.

“It’s an honor for Overlake’s exceptional care teams to receive this national recognition,” says J. Michael Marsh, president and CEO of Overlake Medical Center & Clinics. “This award reflects their enduring commitment to clinical excellence, advanced treatments and leading outcomes for the community we serve.”

“This recognition and achievement demonstrates our surgeons’ expertise and our comprehensive team-based approach to treatment with the aim of returning patients to the quality of life they deserve," says MeChelle Vance, Director of Eastside Neuroscience Institute. "Quality is our culture, and we are committed to delivering the best service throughout the entire journey of care."

The exceptional providers conducting spinal surgery at Overlake have been recognized for numerous awards at the regional and national level for their outstanding care, attention to patient safety, outcomes and expertise. This collective group of surgeons and advanced-practice providers deliver skilled care that is convenient to Eastside communities and people across the greater Puget Sound region.

To identify the top-performing hospitals in the “back and neck” surgical category, Healthgrades analyzed patient outcomes at short-term, acute care facilities nationwide offering procedures in an outpatient environment. Healthgrades’ analysis found that patients treated at hospitals that have been recognized as five-star award winners have a demonstrably better chance at a smooth recovery than those treated at hospitals not recognized by Healthgrades.

“Overlake Medical Center, and its partners, exemplify what it means to be leaders by delivering consistently superior outcomes across key outpatient procedures,” says Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data science at Healthgrades. “Patients having back and neck surgical procedures at Overlake Medical Center should feel confident in their decision to seek care from a facility with top marks in their procedure.”

As outpatient surgical volumes continue to grow, Healthgrades is proud to offer the industry’s only outcomes-based outpatient ratings to help patients identify the best care for their needs. Consumers can visit Healthgrades.com to learn more about how Healthgrades measures hospital quality.
