Overlake Medical Center & Clinics Named Recipient of Huron’s 2023 Excellence in Healthcare Award
Overlake Medical Center & Clinics has received the 2023 Patient Experience Excellence in Healthcare Award from the global firm Huron, which works with healthcare organizations from around the world to improve clinical, operational and functional outcomes.
“Overlake is honored to be selected as the sole winner, nationally, in the Patient Experience category, and I commend our outstanding nursing leadership and patient experience teams for their dedication to nurse leader rounds,” Overlake CEO J. Michael Marsh said. “This practice ensures our nurse leaders connect daily with patients and staff, gathering feedback on their experiences, ensuring patients and staff know their voices are heard and demonstrating our commitment to our mission of providing compassionate care for every life we touch.”
The Patient Experience Excellence in Healthcare recognition was awarded to Overlake during Huron’s 21st annual What’s Right in Health Care® conference, which provided an opportunity for leaders in healthcare to connect and learn from one another, as well as glean valuable insight on innovative concepts for improving care delivery.
Huron’s Excellence in Healthcare Awards are presented annually to a select group of organizations demonstrating what’s right in healthcare and delivering exceptional outcomes to patients. Honorees participated in a panel discussion during the conference, where they highlighted the strategies and programs that resulted in exceptional outcomes. Tamara Kam, director of patient experience and volunteers, accepted the award on behalf of Overlake and participated on the discussion panel. To be eligible for an award, an organization must demonstrate outstanding performance and achievement in areas such as patient care, as well as employee and physician engagement.
“We congratulate Overlake Medical Center & Clinics on this well-deserved achievement,” says Debbie Ritchie, managing director at Huron. “This recognition is a testament to the innovation and resilience of their teams enabling them to achieve performance excellence throughout the past year.”
The What’s Right in Health Care conference is for healthcare leaders who are eager to think critically about innovation and prioritizing a high-performing and engaged workforce. Over the two-and-a-half days, attendees connected with peers and found inspiration for organizational improvement to become ambassadors of cultural growth, positive clinical and operational outcomes, and advanced leadership skills. Conference attendees joined in-person and virtually to hear inspiring stories and best practices from other high-performing healthcare leaders and staff members across the care continuum.
