Board of Directors Named for Eastside Health Alliance and Network, New Joint Venture of Evergreen Health and Overlake Medical Center
Bellevue/Kirkland, Wash. – The Board of Directors for Eastside Health Alliance (EHA) and Eastside Health Network (EHN) has been formed for the joint venture and clinically integrated network of Overlake Medical Center and EvergreenHealth that was announced in January 2017.
EHA Board of Directors are equally represented from both organizations. From EvergreenHealth, directors include Al DeYoung, Jeanette Greenfield, Minerva Butler, Robert Malte; and from Overlake Medical Center Patty Bedient, Rob Campbell, Dr. Kelan Koenig and J. Michael Marsh.
The Board is charged with overseeing the EHN as well as a new collaboration in cardiac, neuroscience and thoracic surgery services and the Coordinated Quality Program for sharing of safety and quality best practices.
“The new leadership team for EHN and EHA bring a strong foundation of clinical care, operations, finance, health care reform and community affairs expertise to allow us to build a comprehensive Eastside system of care fueled by our shared vision to deliver high quality care and exceptional patient outcomes at a lower cost—ultimately providing greater value to patients, employers and payers,” said Overlake Medical Center CEO J. Michael Marsh.
“The combined EHA Board of Directors represents an integral step in advancing our collaboration, as we seek to benefit from the sharing of best practices and operational efficiencies to bolster our organizations’ position as the Eastside’s preferred health care systems,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte. “As we compete in this ever-changing health care marketplace, the economies of scale we will gain from managing risk, infrastructure expenses and population health together are of crucial importance.”
EvergreenHealth and Overlake Medical Center are remaining separate entities and the joint venture has no impact on either organization’s governance, administration, or tax exempt status. The strategic alliance is a 50/50 joint venture, structured as a limited liability company (LLC).
