Overlake Clinics Welcome Four New Physicians

Overlake Clinics recently added four physicians to its staff including a metabolic and bariatric surgeon, an electrophysiologist, a primary care physician and an urgent care physician.

  • Joseph Chebli, MD, FACS, joined Overlake Clinics - Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He completed his surgical residency at Georgetown University Hospital and became board certified in General Surgery in 2002. He was named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2004. In 2010, Dr. Chebli was designated as an ASMBS Center of Excellence surgeon. He’s been named Top Doctor by Seattle Magazine in the field of bariatric surgery six years in a row.
  • Derek Rodrigues, MD, FACC, joined Overlake Clinics - Cardiology. He received subspecialist training in the management of cardiac arrhythmias and is Board Certified in Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology. He started the Electrophysiology program at Overlake in 1997. Dr. Rodrigues has been involved in research into management of arrhythmias and heart failure with implantable defibrillators and pacemakers.
  • Sigrid Barnickel, MD is taking new patients at the Issaquah primary care clinic. She graduated from the University of Washington Medical School. She interned at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane and completed her family medicine residency at Hamot Family Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania. Her areas of interest include family medicine, back and neck injuries, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, high cholesterol, developmental delay and preventive health.
  • Christina Lee, MD is seeing patients at the Redmond Urgent Care clinic. She completed medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was a resident at Deaconess Family Medicine in Evansville, Indiana. Dr. Lee speaks English and Korean, and has a special interest in urgent care cases.

Over the past three years, Overlake has focused on adding new primary and specialty care clinics and expanding its employed physician network to better integrate services and better serve patients. The primary focus of Overlake Clinics is to promote health and wellness. The staff in each clinic works with patients to design a care plan tailored to unique needs, based on the latest, proven medical practices. Overlake's primary and specialty care clinics are located throughout the Eastside, close to where patients live and work.
