If you or someone you love needs urological surgery, Overlake Medical Center and Clinics is here to provide expert and compassionate care. We’ll shape your care plan around your unique needs and goals — using the latest treatments and approaches — to help you get back to living your best life.

- Bladder cancer.
- Kidney cancer.
- Kidney stones.
- Prostate cancer.
- Testicular cancer.
- Ureteropelvic junction obstruction, a blockage in the urinary tract.
- Urethral stricture, a narrowing of the tube where urine exits the body.
Urological Surgery Treatments and Services
At Overlake, we provide different types of surgical care for a wide range of urological conditions, including:
- Personalized treatment for BPH. This care ranges from in-office procedures to minimally invasive surgery.
- Vasectomy and vasectomy reversal. Our team has special expertise in vasectomy reversal. Our 70 percent rate of successful pregnancies after vasectomy reversal is above the national average.
- Robotic and minimally invasive surgery for prostate, kidney and bladder cancers and other benign urologic conditions. We have more experience than any other team on the Eastside in performing robotic prostate removal (prostatectomy) and robotic kidney surgery. We are the only hospital the Eastside offering a robotic cystectomy, which is robotic removal of the bladder to treat bladder cancer.
- Reconstructive surgery to restore urinary and sexual function. We perform specialized surgeries including artificial urinary sphincter and male sling replacement after cancer treatment.
Expert and Compassionate Care, Close to Home on the Eastside
Overlake’s team of urological surgeons performs hundreds of procedures each year. We use the latest techniques, including robotic and minimally invasive surgeries. These techniques offer more precise procedures, less time under anesthesia, fewer complications and a faster recovery. Some patients who have these surgeries are able to go home the same day.
Our patients often tell us that they appreciate how Overlake offers leading and expert care, in a smaller, easier-to-navigate healthcare setting.
The Full Range of BPH Treatments
BPH happens when the prostate gland becomes enlarged. This benign (non-cancerous) condition is very common. It affects about half of men over 50 and as many as 90 percent of men over 80.
BPH doesn’t always cause problems. But sometimes it can make it difficult to pee or cause other issues with the bladder, urinary tract or kidneys.
Our team offers many procedures to treat BPH. We’ll work with you to choose the best option for your needs and goals. Surgeries for BPH include:
- Rezūm™ water vapor therapy, a simple in-office procedure where doctors use steam to reduce the size of the prostate. This treatment is typically a good option for people with a smaller enlargement of the prostate. Our team has years of experience performing this procedure and was the first hospital in the Puget Sound region to offer it.
- GreenLight™ Laser, where doctors use a beam of light to vaporize extra prostate tissue and make it easier to pee.
- Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), a procedure to remove extra prostate tissue. Doctors feed tiny tools through the urethra (the tube that allows urine to exit the body) to perform this procedure, so it does not require any incisions (cuts).
- Aquablation® Therapy, which uses jets of water to remove extra prostate tissue. Overlake was the first hospital in the Puget Sound area to offer this procedure.
- Robotic simple prostatectomy, a surgery where doctors use a robotic arm to remove prostate tissue that’s blocking the flow of urine. The robotic arm offers more precision and dexterity than a human hand.
