Robotic Surgery
Types of Robotic Surgery
Based on the type of surgery you need and your medical history, your healthcare provider will determine if robotic-assisted surgery is right for you. Types of robotic surgery offered at Overlake include:
- Aquablation® – Uses a high-speed water jet and imaging to remove obstructive prostate tissue, providing lasting relief for symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate.
- da Vinci® – Acts as a “surgical assistant” with four robotic arms for increased flexibility, accuracy and enhanced vision, helping surgeons perform precise operations.
- Mako® – Used in joint replacement surgeries, including total knee, partial knee and total hip replacement, this system creates a 3D model of the patient’s unique bone structure, allowing the orthopedic surgeon to align implants more accurately for knee and hip surgeries.
- MONARCH™ – As the most advanced biopsy system for detecting lung cancer, this platform provides a clear view deep into the lungs, allowing physicians to reach and biopsy hard-to-access lung lesions and nodules that may be cancerous.
- ROSA® – Used in joint replacement surgeries, including total hip and total knee replacement, this device assists the orthopedic surgeon in making more precise and accurate bone resections during surgery and can reduce the need for further revisionary procedures in the future.
