Breastfeeding During Your Stay
You want the best for your baby, and we want to help. If you’re planning to breastfeed, the Childbirth Center’s nursing and medical staff are here to support you.
Breastfeeding is the most natural way to feed your baby. It’s also healthy and saves a lot of money. But that doesn’t mean it’s effortless.
That’s where our certified lactation consultants come in. These specially trained educators are available seven days a week while you are in the hospital and by phone or appointment at our Parent & Baby Care Center after you return home.
How We Can Help
Our lactation specialists will teach you all about:
- Breastfeeding benefits.
- How to start and maintain the breastfeeding process.
- Infant nutrition.
- How to manage breastfeeding in special situations, like multiple and premature births.
Our international board-certified lactation consultants and lactation specialists are available to provide breastfeeding support anytime you or your providers or nurses ask.
We also have breast pumps for rent and for sale. Learn more by visiting our boutique or calling (425) 688-5389.
During Your Pregnancy
Our prenatal breastfeeding class will help you prepare for breastfeeding. For more information or to register, call (425) 688-5259 or register for classes online.
You may also want to stop by our Boutique to purchase a nursing sleep bra to support you as your milk comes in and your breasts change shape.
During Your Hospital Stay
Lactation consultants are available 16 hours a day, seven days a week to provide support and answer questions. We will help you learn your baby’s hunger cues and help them latch correctly—which helps baby get the best milk flow and keeps your nipples more comfortable.
After You Go Home
