Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

You’ve planned the perfect birth and done all the right things during your pregnancy. Everything should work out fine.

Now and then, however, life throws a curve ball. Your baby may decide to come early or be born with a low birth weight or other complications. No matter what, you can rest easier knowing you’ve chosen a hospital with a Level 3 neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) available to give your baby any care they need right when they need it.

Special Care for Special Babies

Our NICU is staffed by neonatal physicians and nurses specially trained to work with newborns. They work with you and your baby to provide:

Around-the-clock care every day: Neonatology physicians are on-site, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, should your newborn require additional, expert care.

Specialized hospital care: Neonatologists take care of your baby in the NICU.

Referrals to pediatric experts: Our team will help coordinate your baby's continuing care if they need to be seen by specialists.

We offer care even for very tiny newborns and complicated conditions. Our Level III NICU offers:

• A broad range of pediatric specialists.
• Advanced respiratory care.
• Continuous monitoring.
• Laboratory and advanced medical imaging.
• Pediatric nutrition.
• Pediatric pharmacy expertise.
• Registered nurses specially trained and certified in the care of tiny and medically complex infants.

Your NICU team will also help you with pumping and breastfeeding to help your little one get the best start possible. Those unable to provide their own breast milk may have the option of the use of specially pasteurized and prepared donor breast milk.  

Support for You and Your Family

Your baby’s special care involves more than just sophisticated technology. Your bond and physical presence are incredibly important to your baby’s recovery. Our family-centered approach encourages you and the NICU staff to work closely together during your baby’s stay.

Your stay: You are welcome to stay near your baby in the NICU and partner with the nurses in providing their care. We encourage skin-to-skin care whenever it is safe to do. A daybed and recliner are available at your baby’s bedside. 

Your rest: Your rest is important, too, and we know you’ll have times when you need to be home or at work. To help you stay connected, each NICU bed has an AngelEye camera. You and your family members can securely log in to watch your baby in real time, even when you need to be somewhere else.
