Policy: Compliance - Key Elements (Steps)
Overlake provides complete maternity and reproductive health services. These services include: wellness, primary care, medical and surgical services, specialty care, and reproductive health. These services include, but are not limited to, maternal fetal medicine consultations, prenatal diagnosis, genetic counseling, social services, birth control, and counseling regarding these services.
In cases where when necessary services are not available at Overlake, patients are given information to its patients with access to such reproductive health services by providing referrals to independent providers in the community, where specialized resources in out-patient settings near our hospital campuses fully support patients and their families seeking these services.
The Reproductive Privacy Act contains a "conscience clause" acknowledging that no person may be required in any circumstance to participate in the performance of a pregnancy termination or certain other services. Overlake respects each individuals right to refuse to participate in aspects of care that violates his or her beliefs. Overlake therefore coordinates care so that services are provided with appropriate staff at Overlake.
