For Overlake-affiliated Physicians Who Don't Currently Have an EMR
With ONE health information exchange solutions, you have more time to focus on patients rather than administrative tasks. If you don't have an EMR that's not a problem. You can still use a ONE health information exchange solution which only requires an Internet-connected computer and a standard web browser. It is known as "Dropbox" application.
Dropbox
The Dropbox is a secure application that enables users to access a result to view, save and print/reprint from a browser. This allows information generated in the hospital such as test reports and summaries to be securely distributed to a computer in the practice. It can be batched and automatically printed from a specific printer.
- When users access the Dropbox, they are prompted to login. Once logged in, the user is presented with an access screen that allows them to search for and filter information in the Dropbox. Users can filter results in the Dropbox by result type, provider ID or date received. Users can also search for a particular patient's results by name. Once the reports are printed, it's logged in the system with date, time and user information for auditing and security purposes.
- Once a selection is made, users are presented with a list of matching results from the Dropbox. Clicking on an item in the list will open up a browser view displaying the result in an HTML format. The user can print the result if desired.
The Dropbox is often thought of as a fax replacement, but in fact, it is much more than that.
